Overview


The mission of this research group is to address questions relevant to some of the principal human illnesses, while developing and optimizing drugs and analytical methods with impact in medicine, pharmaceutical industry, and environment.

Research strategy is based on fostering knowledge integration at molecular, cellular, organ, whole organism and population levels, and on breaking down boundaries between disciplines and institutions.

The unit team is multidisciplinary and includes researchers covering essential disciplines of life and health sciences such as molecular biology, chemistry, microbiology, pharmacy, physiopathology, medicine, dentistry, psychology, nursing, computer science, and statistics.

According to their expertise and scientific interest, researchers are grouped around four research lines with significant interaction to address the following health care problems:
